Matt and mine’s schedules are so different from what they were last fall. Last semester he had night classes and also worked the evenings he didn’t have class AND he would spend all day in the library doing his work. This semester, he only has classes Tuesday during the day and works two days a week in the late afternoon for just a few hours.
I nanny the most adorable 14 month old boy Wednesday, Thursday, and half of Friday. And, now, instead of Matt wanting to be dropped off at school on my way to work, he stays home. Like, this morning, I left for work and he stayed at home in his pj’s reading and doing his school work.
The thought of this is still unreal to me.
When you go from only seeing your husband in the early morning and late evening (and possibly in the middle of the day to go to the gym) nearly every day to seeing him basically all day for most days of the week, it’s a little overwhelming. This new schedule is great and all, but I did not realize how I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T I became last fall. I can’t just turn music up loudly and do things around the house as I please. If I want to go somewhere, I need to let him know (since ya know, he’s going to be home in the mean time). Now, with Matt home all day working – I need to be quiet, need to be not distracting (hmfff).
I know most people will never get to experience being with their husband all day outside of weekends and holidays, so I hope I don’t seem like I’m complaining about Matt being home. This way of life we have the opportunity to live right now really is a gift, and I’m sure I’ll get used to the idea of him being here all the time some day…
Just, what do you do when you come home from a day of nannying to this?
I made these:
And you should too! Here’s the recipe. Please go make them if you want a “healthy” snack. They literally took me 15 minutes to roll up, and they’re freaking delicious.
Geez…remember when Thursday night was “college night”? One of my favorite nights to go two-stepping. Ah well, it’s too cold for that up here anyway. Gnight y’all!
