This was my first week sans nannying. We wanted to give my body plenty of time to take it easy before baby boy made his appearance, but I did miss having something to do. Endless empty days are strange for me since I’m typically a task oriented type person who likes to get things done. Ah well. I know I need to take advantage of the sleep while I can!

Since I feel the need to give myself SOMETHING to do, I have been filling our freezer up with meals! Some crockpot meals, some frozen pizzas, some breakfast burritos, and some snack bar type things. I think we’ll be well fed, and Matt won’t have to be too distracted from his school to feed us!

Speaking of food. One of my friends sent me this yesterday and it’s wonderful. I’ll give my thoughts about eating one day on here, but for now this pretty much sums it up:

REMINDER: St. Joseph’s Feast Day is tomorrow! It’s a solemnity and a beautiful celebration before we move into Holy Week. Matt’s dad/baby boy’s pepaw sent us a letter a week or so ago and requested for baby boy to get some pie. We (maybe just me…) decided to wait until tomorrow to get some, so we have a reason to celebrate with treats in Lent – even though pie may not be the traditional way to celebrate St. Joseph. Our church is also hosting a spaghetti dinner to celebrate after Mass on Sunday which we’re also planning to be at!

Can you believe Holy Week is just next week? This Lent has been mostly peaceful for me while I prepare my heart to receive the graces from the pains of labor and delivery and the joy of having a new little person. I pray your Lenten penances are going well, and if not, that this last week leading to Easter will give you the push you need to persevere.

It hit me yesterday that Matt and I will probably be celebrating Easter just the two of us… unless there are other lonely grad students who didn’t venture home during their spring/Easter break. Planning a feasting meal for two, hmmm, any suggestions?

And, here’s some things Matt has said to our son in-utero:
“Make sure you clean up that uterus before you leave. Other people have to use it too.”
“You are in so much trouble when you get out of there!” (for kicking me…)
“She’s so much prettier on the outside. Don’t worry.”
