Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek! I promise I haven’t totally disappeared!!!
It’s funny how now, when I have things to do, I feel so much more busy than when I juggled extra things while working full time. Perhaps it’s because of my lack of a consistent daily routine? Or am I truly lazy? …I’ll just blame it on the consistency thing…
Thought I’d just share some quick takes on things I’m thankful for while also getting you up to speed with life.

Friends. Last weekend was my best friend’s bachelorette party, and I got to be reunited with some of my favorites!! We had such a good girly weekend frolicking around Dallas taking cute pictures, going to see The Sound of Music, and celebrating the bride to be. I love being married, but sometimes I wish I could go back to those college days of endless girl time with my roomies. I’m so thankful to get a dash of that last weekend, and I can’t wait to see all of them again over Christmas for the wedding!

Orphan Thanksgiving. Surprisingly, quite a few people in Matt’s graduate program don’t go home for the break, so we ended up with a really nice potluck of all the tasty Thanksgiving food with a bunch of other orphan children. We’ve actually gotten to hang out with quite a few people over this long weekend which is quite different than our norm, and probably won’t happen again for a couple of weeks. Y’all, Matt has a few huge papers due and he’s planning to take the LSAT in the middle of it all; time for him to be a recluse.

Family. I was kind of bummed to not be able to stay in Texas through Thanksgiving. My family is crazy, but they’re fun and I love them. I’m glad I have such a hip sister who Snapchats everything, so I could at least stalk what all was happening there. Both of my sisters and Matt and me are also in a group text message thread, so we were bombed with adorable moments of our 9 month old twin niece and nephew doing all the cute things.

Going home. The previous point brings me to this point. Going home. I hate to be one to keep up with count downs, but ONLY TWO AND HALF WEEKS TIL WE GET TO BE HOME! Please keep our drive in your prayers…it’s going to be a long one.

Advent. Happy Sunday! Happy New Year! Happy Advent! I am SO looking forward to this time of quiet and peaceful waiting. It seems that the Liturgical Year always knows what my heart needs. Matt and I have a few things planned to help us celebrate, and I look forward to sharing.

YES. BABY! Surprise Matt and I are preggers! And, we’re having a boy!! We’re just about at 22 weeks, which is insane, but we’re due the beginning of April (Matt’s really hoping for April fools). So far I think we’ve had a pretty easy pregnancy. I am extra grateful for this since we don’t have any family or close friends nearby. Our 20 week ultrasound came back normal, and there seems to be no issues with our little boy so far! I’m thankful for what seems to be a relatively easy pregnancy :)

Marriage. Because I love my husband, and I love being married to him, and I love learning how to be married to him and how to love him. We still have a lot of work to do to figure this marriage thing out, but being in this state far away from our home away from anyone else has given us a unique opportunity to truly rely on one another and form our marriage and family lifestyle.
Peace my friends! I promise I won’t be a stranger.
